Ascension Hive Student Exchange Program

Where education meets real-world connection.

Concept Overview

Students from one Ascension Pod swap places with students from another for a set period (typically one week). During that time, they live with the host student’s family, attend their Pod, and take part in local activities.
It’s a full immersion into another community — not just learning together but living and understanding each other’s environments.

How It Works

  1. Pod Matching:
    Pods are paired based on compatible ages, subjects, and interests (e.g., Pod 234 in Tampa pairs with Pod 456 in Miami).

  2. Family Hosting:
    Each family agrees to host one or two visiting students.

    • All hosts are pre-approved through background checks and Ascension Hive’s Family Agreement Policy.

    • Families commit to providing a safe, comfortable environment, meals, and inclusion in family life.

  3. Exchange Duration:

    • Standard: 1 week

    • Optional: 2–4 weeks for advanced or global stages

  4. Costs:

    • Free program. Families cover only transportation costs (or share travel costs if agreed).

    • No fees, no agencies, no middlemen. Just a trusted Hive network.

  5. Supervision & Safety:

    • Parents and mentors remain connected through the Hive portal 24/7.

    • Each student’s daily activities and learning logs are recorded and shared in real-time with both families and their mentor.

    • Emergency contact system built directly into the Hive app.

  6. Purpose & Benefits:

    • Build independence and empathy through shared living.

    • Develop social intelligence and real-world adaptability.

    • Strengthen bonds between Pods and communities.

    • Foster diversity of thought — students learn how others live, learn, and play.

Long-Term Vision

  • Phase 1: Florida (in-state pod exchanges)

  • Phase 2: Nationwide (interstate exchanges)

  • Phase 3: Global Exchange (students from Thailand, Japan, UK, etc.)

  • Phase 4: Sponsored Travel Grants (Hive or corporate partners cover flights for selected students)
